Did you know that stress can be good for you?
The right amount of stress can present a challenge, and help you clear hurdles–physical or otherwise–in your life. That can leave you feeling jazzed and invigorated.
But excess stress can take a harmful toll.
How can you tell how you’re reacting to stress? Check out the handy Stress-O-Meter graphic, which appeared in the Wall Street Journal.
The good news is that you can take steps to manage excess stress and calm down. Here are some things to try:
- Exercise.
- Use deep abdominal breathing.
- Let it go.
- Spend a little time in nature.
- Meditate.
- Help someone else.
- Laugh.
Even with these tactics and my best intentions, I still find that too much stress gets the better of me now and then. Which proves that there is… <ahem>… room for growth.
